Concrete, exercise balls, glass

Part of the series, I Find This Stable, featuring abstract works made from exclusively repurposed, recycled materials who’s components are in interdependent intimate relationships through balance, tension, form, weight, materiality, color and maneuverability. The overwhelming weight of concrete cubes grant the exercise balls the ability to compress against each other and stay afloat, while the gentle cradle of glass panels supports this tense and devoted embrace.

Concrete, rubber, pigment

Part of the series, I Find This Stable, featuring abstract works made from exclusively repurposed, recycled materials who’s components are in interdependent intimate relationships through balance, tension, form, weight, materiality, color and maneuverability.

Kiah Celeste allows the concrete pipes to use their qualities of weight and shape to their advantage with the rubber strip, pressing in on each other to hold the rubber in place through pressure and tension, noting an autonomy and free agency based on form. Circular, flowing forms allude to the infinite and the organic in contrast with the synthetic and industrial materiality of the work.
